Overview
IceMetrics is built for youth and amateur hockey. Core game tracking works locally on your device. An account, Cloud Sync, and usage analytics are optional. IceMetrics does not sell your personal information and does not use data for cross-app tracking.
Information stored on your device
Game tracking and many team-management records can stay entirely on your device. Under the current product design, the following records are not sent through Cloud Sync:
- Team documents, including waivers, medical forms, insurance records, and birth certificates
- Financial transactions, budgets, and family payments
- Calendar events and Crossbar subscriptions
- Announcements and communication groups
- Volunteer duties, assignments, and hour adjustments
- Roster export configurations
Local data generally remains for the life of the install or until you delete the record. Temporary export files are purged when the app launches and when it moves to the background.
Information sent when you enable Cloud Sync
If you sign in and turn on Cloud Sync, IceMetrics sends selected records to PocketBase so they can be associated with your account and available across supported devices. Depending on what you enter, synced information may include:
- Your Sign in with Apple email address, which may be an Apple private relay address
- Account-holder, player, staff, and guardian names
- Optional guardian phone numbers and mailing addresses
- Optional emergency medical information about a player, such as allergies, conditions, or medication
- Optional player, staff, and guardian photos, plus league or club logos
- Your PocketBase account user ID
- Teams, seasons, games, shots, penalties, faceoffs, shifts, lines, tournaments, and derived statistics
Cloud data is retained under the signed-in account until the account or record is deleted. Current server-side retention and deletion behavior may not remove every copy immediately.
Usage analytics
IceMetrics uses PostHog only while you have enabled Settings → Privacy → Share Usage Analytics. Analytics events contain feature-use identifiers, counts, booleans, and fixed category values. Your PocketBase user ID may be used with PostHog identification while consent is active. PostHog data is retained according to the retention configured for the IceMetrics PostHog project.
Advertising and consent
IceMetrics uses Google Mobile Ads to provide non-personalized advertising and Google User Messaging Platform to present consent choices where required. The app sends a non-personalized-ads signal with every ad request. IceMetrics does not use the advertising identifier for personalized ads.
Service providers
The app includes services that support selected features and app reliability:
- PocketBase for optional account-based Cloud Sync
- PostHog for consent-controlled product analytics
- Google Mobile Ads for non-personalized advertising
- Google User Messaging Platform for consent messaging
- Microsoft PLCrashReporter, included through PostHog, for crash-reporting support
- Apple for App Store distribution, subscriptions, and Sign in with Apple
These providers may process information under their own privacy terms. Their software includes its own privacy declarations that Apple aggregates with the IceMetrics privacy manifest.
Youth player and guardian information
IceMetrics is commonly used by adults managing youth teams. Player names, photos, guardian contact details, addresses, and emergency medical information can be sensitive, especially when they concern minors. Team administrators should enter only information they are authorized to manage, limit optional fields to what the team needs, and protect access to the device and account.
Your choices
- Use core game tracking without signing in
- Leave Cloud Sync disabled
- Omit optional contact, address, health, and media fields

Security and international processing
IceMetrics uses device file protection and reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No system can guarantee absolute security. Depending on the service provider and your location, information may be processed in another country under the provider’s safeguards and terms.
